France: Departure Day

Bonjour! Finally I'm blogging about my France trip!
This was way back in the end of May till early June during their spring/summer season. As part of our course's requirements, we have to complete one of our assignments at Université de Toulouse, Jean Jaurès and yes, it is a compulsory trip. But anyhow, we still gotten the chance to visit France! Thank you, God! *overexcited kid*

So, there's a total of 200+ humans, separated into 3 groups boarding 1 Emirates and 2 Qatars. I was in the last batch, boarding Qatar Airways (: I must say, it was a pleasure flying with them even though my butt numbs from those long hours. 14 hours worth of flying and even though with a transition in between, it wasn't all fun because the air in airplanes are really dry and I hate it :( But the stewardesses were really friendly and helpful, so it was still awesome (:

A sneak peek of the meal (:

So what you will get to enjoy during the flight would be a blanket, headphones, the mini tv screen (loaded with many movies, series, games and etc.), a pouch containing some toiletries and sleep eye covers, one main meal and a high-tea meal (confirm you will be full and bloated). Also, I really like that they have body lotion in the washrooms, a much needed necessity in the dry atmosphere.

Selfie while we were in Doha! 40 degrees there is no joke!

Doha really looks like a desert area from above with many brick buildings and a whole lot of sand. Oh, the weather was sizzling alright, 40 degrees! I can feel my scalp cooking under the sun while waiting for the shuttle bus. Chilled around the airport for an hour plus to be on board another flight to Paris. After another 6 hours plus in the plane, few movies and a bloated tummy, we were so looking forward to touchdown in Paris! Because all of us were so tired and busy being pigs in the plane (was at KLIA at 7am), most of the window shutters were down till we are approaching Paris. Some started to lift it up and then the most of us were dumbfounded!

9 something in the evening..
You are expecting dark skies and hoping to see some stars (dreaming..) while cruising on top of the City of Lights in a romantic atmosphere. NO! Bright skies, super bright!

We are on top of Paris!

I guess many of us were too tired to be reminded that it's spring entering summer at that time. During spring/summer, their nighttime only comes after 10pm their local time. So basically, you will have longer daytime and cheers to more time to explore around!

Escalator in tubes at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

Their airport is really beautiful, combination of nature with cave-like structures and modern design such as the tube escalators. Wanted to take some pictures but I guess all of us were really tired to move around so much and stop for pictures. But nonetheless, here's the first selfie in Paris!

Their 10pm in Paris (:

Taken this shot the moment we stepped out of the airport to wait for our coaches, 10pm in Paris.
After another hour plus in the bus, we arrived at our hotel, Hotel F1 Paris Porte de Chatillon where I heard half of their rooms are facing the graveyard and mine was indeed facing the graveyard.
Have you gotten the chills with the thought of it?

Stay tune to the next post!

Much loves, xoxo.

Skin Care: Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish

Woohoo! Thanks to Natta Cosme once again, I'll be doing a product review on a Korean brand skincare product, Klairs' Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish. I was really looking forward to review this product as I have not use a black sugar scrub before and the word "polish" just made it sound so much more fab!

Do you know that sugar is one of the best natural beauty ingredients to exfoliate your skin?
Sugar scrubs are mild and help to gently remove dead skin cells.
Helps in rejuvenating the skin by cleaning all the dirt from the skin pores.
As sugar is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the environment into the skin.
So they'll actually help hydrate your skin and keep moisture within.
Sugar contains two important components, glycolic acid and alpha-hydroxy acid which help to maintain perfect oil balance in the skin.
It cleanses your skin and do not allow toxins to attack your skin cells.
This in the long run slows down the ageing process and helps to keep your skin youthful much beyond your years!

Other than that, this facial polish also contains several other awesome-for-your-skin ingredients such as..

After knowing all that, who could resist its temptation?

It smells really good, some sort of herb butter like (makes me want to spread it on a piece of bread and eat it!). The product doesn't comes with a spatula, so you got to make sure that your hands are clean while handling it for hygiene purposes.

I have one from my other facial product,
so I'm using this! (:

You can feel the sugar granules and it would be a little dry to just use the polish alone. So, here are some items which you can consider to mix it with; olive oil, honey or just plain water.

Here I've added some water, probably 3-4 drops and then gently massage it in circular motions. The sugar granules will slowly dissolve and it'll end up as though it's a layer of cleansing oil, just less oily.

Then just rinse it off, apply your toner and moisturizer as usual and you are done!

Left: AFTER using the polish
Right: BEFORE using the polish

So I told my mom, "Mommy, look! Don't you realize that this hand (left) is fairer and smoother after using the scrub? Or am I just thinking too much." and my mom says, "Smoother but fair wise.. Don't you think it's a little dramatic to say so? It's just once, how can that be?".

Okay, then I prepared some with honey and a little bit of water for both of us to use on our faces. Good things are meant to be shared right? :p

Benefits of HONEY:
Rich in natural antioxidants that have anti-microbial properties
Protect your skin from harmful UV rays and facilitate the skin’s ability to rejuvenate
 Absorb and retain moisture
Fights acne as a natural antiseptic, soothes and heals your skin
Full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down aging
It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow
Opens up pores making them easy to unclog
Helps in lightening and healing scars

~.~.~.~.~.~

The END RESULT?
Both my mom and I agree that it does lighten the skin tone, your skin instantly feels clean after using it and it doesn't cause any dryness, in fact you will feel that your skin is smoother and hydrated. Say goodbye to all the blackhead, whitehead and annoying dead skin! It is recommended to use once every week but I think once a fortnight is good too. I would definitely buy and use this product again! (:

Another plus point.. It's suitable for all skin types and ANIMAL TESTING FREE!

Fashion Culture June's Box!

I know, I know.. It looks like it's a little late to only un-box my June's box now but I've been busy in July with my finals and what not :( But let's skip all the boring stuff and check out the excitement in the box!

For those who do not know what a Fashion Culture box is..

Fashion Culture Box offers THREE uniquely different themes monthly in its fashion box subscription, where subscribers of the boxes will receive fashion and beauty items, specially curated by the FC Team.
It offers an experience to remember with its tagline: "Look. Touch. Feel. And Experiment with Style".

For JUNE, they came out with 3 themes under the category of "Colours of The World":
(1) Viva la Brasil (in conjunction with World Cup Brazil 2014)
(2) Harajuku Girls
(3) K-Pop Mania

Being someone who loves colors and experimenting in fashion, I've chosen to go bold with K-Pop Mania as I'm expecting a lot of bright neon accessories and fashion items.

I love their packaging, simple and cute! Are you ready to see what's inside?

In the box..
A cap, a cute bow hair clip, a set of three-piece ring that made of different shapes by Cheap Monday, a pair of statement earrings (my favorite item in the box!) and a nail art kit from Bloop. I love how they combined all the colors together, all neon but they complement each other very well.

Close up on the accessories (:

In the nail art kit from Bloop..
A neon pink nail polish, nail sticker from Bloop, a dotting tool, sponge and stripping tape.

I really love the nail stickers, so colorful and playful!

And of course, you can't skip a selfie!
I've created my very own Korean Popstar inspired look by using my Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner in Galaxy Black (you can read about it here) and go bold with my Clinique's High Impact Lip Colour.

And here's my favorite, the statement earrings!

Just too gorgeous to begin with and I love the COLOURS! Put them on and even the simplest outfit can look awesome!

So, there you go..
Fashion Culture's June's K-pop Mania box!

Btw, from July onwards, subscription for FCB is only RM50 and they have launched an online FCZine now instead of the printed mini magazine in the box. The product info, price, and other information related to the box will be published in the online version (:

Makeup: Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner

Hello, hello! Guess what I'll be talking about today?
The super raved about, Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner!

I know I've been missing for a while, that's because I was busy with my finals and something personal came up so yea.. Was pretty caught up with all of that. Sitting for my final examination feels a little different as it's the last of my university life and that's it! Soon enough I'll be thrown into the harsh reality of the working world, hmm.. Not that keen though but I'm excited to challenge myself and big girls do them things #likeaboss!

Once again, thank you Natta Cosme for giving me the opportunity to do a product review on these babies! I really like how they did the little cute personal note on the side, it shows the effort put in (: Btw, they are made in Taiwan and said to be water and oil proof, smudge proof, long lasting, has a smooth texture and high intensity and rich color.

So, I was given the Stardust range to be reviewed which has the colors of
02 Galaxy Black
04 Golden Brown

You can see the glittery surface from the one I have sharpened before.
Bought a mini version in the metal box from Carousell.

Here are the ones I bought from Carousell which already includes the sharpener. As you can see, the bottom of the eyeliner indicates whether it's the glittery ones (Stardust range) or the matte colored ones.

Top: Normal size (1.5g)
Bottom: Mini size (1.3g)

The 1.5g ones do not have codes to indicate the color
while the mini ones have.

Here's some info about the eyeliner
Origin: Taiwan
Sizes available: 1.3g and 1.5g
Colours:
01 Night Black and 03 Choco Brown (matte colors),
02 Galaxy Black and 04 Golden Brown (glittery colors)
Price: RM 24.90 from Natta Cosme
- read till the end to get your 20% off these babies! (: -

Left to right: 01 Night Black, 02 Galaxy Black and 04 Golden Brown

Pardon me for the bare face, only wanna focus on the eyeliner (:
Captured under natural sunlight.

Both equally has the natural look but I prefer the Golden Brown as it is more subtle. They glide on easily, definitely agree on the point of having smooth texture for easy application. Also, you don't have to wait for them to dry like liquid liners. Color intensity is high, do not need reapplication or touch-up and the glittery look is not over, in fact, it is really pretty. Gives you that subtle touch of glam to it!

Captured under fluorescent lights.

Test #1: Waterproof ability?

Did not smudge at all even with some gentle strokes under the running tap.
✓ Waterproof proven!

Test #2: Oil-proof ability?

Let's test it with a drop of baby oil!

Does not smudge or smear if you do not rub it, so I guess you can say it's oil-proof till certain extent. It smeared a little after I gently rub on it a few times but most of the product still stay perfectly in place, so..
✓ Oil-proof proven!

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

My opinion?
Overall, I really enjoy using this product as it is convenient for me to bring around and it can last all day with very minimum smudge, ideal for the busy women. Plus, the glittery touch really adds some glam to your simple look and it easily slides on, minus time taken for makeup! Perfect for lazy bums like me :p
Only thing that I do not like is the fact that it gets blunt easily and frequent sharpening is needed. Some bloggers complaint of easy breakage but so far I have yet to face that problem. The eyeliner will melt easily under heat so make sure that you do not store it at extremely high temperature and/or direct sunlight places.

Left: Golden Brown
Right: Galaxy Black

Hong Kong (Part 2): Dim Sum and Ocean Park

Oh boy, there goes my procrastination and half a year has passed since I made up my mind to comeback to the world of blogging. Many things ...
